Get rid of unwanted hair and razor bumps for good

Laser Hair Removal in San Diego

While there are daily beauty and self-care rituals that many women find enjoyable, shaving is not one of them. Shaving is a time-consuming chore, especially when it’s shorts and bathing suit season. Removing the hair for good is the perfect solution.

It’s not just the time and hassle, though. Shaving causes painful cuts, angry red razor burn, ingrown hairs, unsightly stubble, and stubborn hair that grows back so fast it doesn’t matter if you shave every day or not. Laser hair removal ends up saving you the aggravation.

Plus, frequent shaving is even worse for people who experience unwanted hair in hard-to-reach or sensitive places.

If you’re shaking your head ‘yes’ to all this, then laser hair removal is for you.

Are you ready to end the battle with razor bumps and bikini lines?

Benefits of Laser Hair Removal

Does Laser Hair Removal work?

Yes! Laser hair removal treatment is very effective at getting rid of excessive or unwanted hair, but it doesn’t happen in one visit. The process works by heating the hair follicles, forcing them to become dormant and unable to grow new hair. Laser hair removal works best over a series of sessions. The ideal hair removal takes between 6-8 sessions, depending on the individual.

Laser Hair Removal sessions don’t take long and require no downtime. While there is some minor discomfort, most people don’t find them painful. After your first treatment, you’ll see a decrease in hair growth. As you receive more sessions, results continue to improve.

You can shave in between treatments. You’ll begin to notice that the hair grows back slower and thinner, and you’ll need to shave less and less often.

How Long Does Laser Hair Removal Last?

Laser hair removal is a long-lasting solution to unwanted hair. After your initial treatments, you could need periodic touch-ups to the affected area to maintain your results IF new hair grows. Everyone is different, but some may need touch-ups once a year, and others may go two, six, or even ten years without a touch-up. Everyone responds differently, but hair regrowth will be minimal if you thoroughly treat the area with multiple sessions upfront.

How to prepare for Laser Hair Removal

It’s essential to stop any waxing, bleaching, or plucking of hair six weeks before treatment. Avoid sun exposure for a few weeks before treatment. Shave before your treatment —the day before or day of is fine. The laser will burn any hair on the treatment area, leading to burns on the skin so, you’ll want to remove any hair ahead of time.

Aftercare for Laser Hair Removal

Be sure to care for your skin correctly after your treatment. If you experience redness or swelling, apply cold compresses to the skin to soothe it. Avoid anything harsh on your skin, such as exfoliating, hot water, or hot steam. For example, avoid hot baths, saunas, or jacuzzis.

Don’t use harsh soaps or scented lotions on the affected area. You may be given instructions for cleansing and moisturizing your skin —we’ll chat about it at your appointment. Try to wait 24 hours before showering, and make sure you pat your skin dry gently, don’t rub with a towel or you may irritate the area.

Following treatment, it’s important to minimize sun exposure and use sunscreen (SPF 30+) on the affected area. Avoiding sun exposure for a week or two helps avoid skin discoloration and irritation.
